The release of the device has been delayed by more than once and according to the company’s boss, the delay is a byproduct of the company’s sanction by the US authorities which has squeezed the Chinese smartphone maker from being on top down to nowhere in 2021.

Huawei first offered a sneak-peak into what we should expect when the P50 series gets released later on this year and what we found includes a unique camera design and the regular curved screen on the front. Newer and unofficial leaks have emerged giving further hints as to what the display might be capable of.

A recent blog posted on Chinese popular social media platform Weibo by @数码闲聊站 has it that the upcoming Huawei P50 Pro will come with a center hole-punch camera cut-out to house the device’s front-facing camera and the OLED panel will sport a 2K resolution measuring 1224 x 2696 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio.

The Weibo blogger added that the device will have support for 5G and Wi-Fi 6 Plus networks – both of which are expected to be included on the expensive device when it debut.

Its highly possible that the leak was based on a screenshot that was shared in comment on Weibo by a company official and that person could Bruce Lee, Huawei’s smartphone vice president.

Further details about the Huawei P50 is still very much unknown and there are rumors that the company might eventually ditch its mobile phone business the way it did with Honor which it had to sell off late 2020.

Huawei apparently ran out of stock-piled Kirin chipsets for its flagship P50 series and that could in fact affect the release of its next flagship, the Mate 50 series considering the fact that it took so long to release its P50 series which was supposed to have been released several months ago.

Still, the Chinese company is still able to release its cross-platform software HarmonyOS which is expected further divide the smartphone into three but how successful Hauwei will be with this approach is yet unknown.

Other rumors about the P50 series includes the device being powered by a 5nm Kirin 9000 chipset for its China market while international market will get the new Snapdragon 888 chipset. However all these are just unconfirmed reports so we wouldn’t know what to expect until the company officially debut the P50 series reported to be July 29th – hopefully.
