There is a new leak about Qualcomm working on releasing its next-generation upper mid-range chipset Snapdragon 765 SoC for mid-range Android devices. The company which is on the verge of changing the TWS technology forever with its new Snapdragon Sound chipset is ready to flood the market with its awesome chipsets.

The company also released the Snapdragon 800 series this year which is meant to take care of high-premium devices such as the Galaxy S21 series and other big smartphones to be released along the line this year. With the rumored Snapdragon 775, it will offer a wide variety of flagship-level feature while maintaining a lower price point.

Based on an image leaked from an internal document from the chipmaker obtained by XiaomiUI (not affiliated with Xiaomi or MiUI), a Telegram channel made it known that Qualcomm is working on the SM7350 system which it will then market as the Snapdragon 775. Based on leaked images that appeared to be part of internal documents which offer a high-level overview of the chipset.

The document further revealed some important specifications of the chipset which shows a high-level feature comparison with its predecessor the Snapdragon 765 (SM7250). Even though further investigation according to XDA-Developer showed that the images comes from an earlier revision that is outdated and that could invalidate some of the key features which are being listed about the chipset.

Here’s a summary of what can possibly be expected on the Snapdragon 775 based on the leaked docs:

The chipset may be based on a 5nm process which is an upgrade from the 7nm EUV fabrication process used by Samsung for the Snapdragon 765 chipset. The chipset is also said to have a new Kryo 6-series CPU core setup even though there isn’t any official announcement to know the exact core configuration of the chipset.

There is also support for LPDDR5 RAM @ 3200 MHz or LPDDR4X RAM @ 2400 MHz RAM and up to UFS 3.1 storage. As for the Spectra 570 ISP on the Snapdragon 775 it’s reportedly going to support about three 28MP cameras simultaneously as well as being able to record video up to 4K at 60FPS.

As for connectivity options for the Snapdragon 775, it’s reportedly centered around the LTE Cat 18 as well as offering support for the mmWave 5G alongside VoNR, NR CA, SA and NSA. You may also get 802.11ax Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6E, 2×2 MIMO, and 256 QAM. The SoC will also support the WCD9380 and WCD9385 audio chips.

There’s no official confirmation from the chipset maker regarding the launch time of the Snapdragon 775 or if there is any product bearing this label just yet. However, there is a growing evidence which could suggest the release of a successor to the Snapdragon 765/765G chipsets based on their receptions.

Devices that could sport the new chipset could be the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G which will be a mid-range premium grade smartphone for 2021 from the Chinese tech giant. All fingers crossed and hopefully something positive can come out of the story eventually.
