By Wednesday, Jan. 19th, U.S. residents will be able to order free at-home COVID-19 test kits from the government. By then, anyone in the United States can visit the website COVIDTests.gov and make requests for tests – this will then be mailed over to their homes.
As of today, the landing page of the website which is written in both English and Spanish languages notes that shipping costs will be covered as well.
Behind the initiative is the Biden administration which is purchasing some one billion at-home, rapid tests all of which will be handed free to US residents.
The reason for this is so that anyone can have a test on hand whenever they need it. According to the White House, 500 million of those tests will be made available on January 19th as stated earlier and anyone will be able to order four per residential address.

There is also a special helpline that’s being set up for those unable to access the initiative’s website. Order is just a call away.
Also, the Biden administration stated its commitment to work with both national and local organizations in order to help those in at-risk and hard-hit communities in order to secure tests.
Shipping will take between 7 to 12 days of ordering which is why the earlier you order, the better. However, those who show symptoms of COVID-19 or have close contact with a positive case and don’t have an at-home test handy will probably get theirs much earlier compared to others.
Getting yours will be quite important and useful due to how in-demand they are. Even Twitter accounts known for helping people secure new gaming consoles are providing stock alerts for COVID-19 tests these days.
