The good old Office 365 cloud platform with its large userbase will now be making a transition in to the Microsoft Office 365. Currently, the Office 365 has a subscriber base of about 38 million on its Office 365 Personal and Home plan, up form 12.4 million, five years ago.

With the new transition, new subscription plans are going to be rolled in as announced which will include the Microsoft 365 Personal and Family (up to six people) and will be available starting from April 21st for $6.99 and $9.99 for a month.

Well, Microsoft is doing this transition to replace the current Office 365 Personal and Home Plans which will allow users to be moved to the new plans automatically.

But not just the name will be changing, there are also going to be a list of features that will accompany this changes. Like the transition to a broader “Microsoft” moniker suggests, these go beyond simple office work in the cloud.

Welcome the Microsoft Family Safety Application which will be targeted as a nifty central hub to manage things such as screen time across multiple devices which includes Xbox game consoles, Windows and Android Devices.

Aside that, there will be the auto-location tracking system which can also share as well as automatic actions when users leave from or to work, home or school. Microsoft did in fact mentioned features that will let parents monitor the driving habits of their kids which obviously might not be really interesting to kids.

The Microsoft Team service is another one the company is tweaking really hard which is expected to be the day-to-day non-work-related collaboration tool for people alike. And with the new home features which are now in the preview as apart of the Microsoft 365 subscription will allow users to connect friends and family members in a group for chats, video calls and file sharing, media sharing and other cool stuffs you might want to share with one another.

The Microsoft Teams home feature is expected to be available to preview this Summer with a general availability to follow just later in the year.

The software can perform basic tasks such as grammar spellchecks as well as help improve writing style with a more semantic and high-level suggestions. There will is also going to be the rewrite option which will allow you to rewrite a entire sentence if that sounds cool. Also, the Excel will be getting native support for some interesting data types such as Food, Places and movies.

These are sourced through the extensive Wolfram Alpha database, which, in itself, sounds quite impressive. Microsoft 365 insiders should be able to start making columns with Pokemon and similar data types this Spring.

Other applications within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem such as the Outlook will be getting the ability to link your work and personal calendars on the internet.

And as a subscriber, you’ll be able to receive more than 200 exclusive new document templates, 300 new fonts and 2,800 new icons and have access to thousands of images from Getty.

Another interesting perk within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem is the improved Edge Browser which will be getting a Password Monitor and promises to scan through saved login credentials and check them against databases of compromised user data which sound security-centric this time around.

There will also be the side-tabs on the Edge Browser where you can stylize and have stuffs placed. So as said earlier, the Personal and Family plans subscription will commence on April 21st and will cost about $6.99 and $9.99 respectively.
