OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei left the company to found another consumer tech company and their debut product was the hyped Nothing Ear 1 TWS earbuds released earlier this year.
Newest reports have it that the company is planning to release a Nothing Phone that may debut as soon as 2022.
Even though smartphones were the expectations of many when Carl Pei left OnePlus to found another company, the company for whatever reason went with TWS earbuds first.
There were speculations however that Nothing could add up smartphones to its portfolio but there wasn’t enough certainty to pinpoint this as a fact.

However, its recent acquisition of Essential, another weirdly-named company founded by Android creator Andy Rubin, became another clue that gave room for more suggestions about Nothing’s product roadmaps going forward.
91mobiles, however, reported exclusively that Nothing will launch its first-ever smartphone sometime in the year 2022.

Even with that, no further information is yet released or made public. One thing for sure is that the device could take after the company’s philosophy of minimalism and may come with a transparent case like the Nothing Ear (1) earbuds but that’s just my thoughts.
Also, the naming of the phone might just be an attachment of “Phone” with the company’s name “Nothing” hence Nothing Phone (1) just as the company did with its TWS earbuds.
The company also partnered with Qualcomm and that could signal the device being powered by a Snapdragon chipset.
The report also mentions a Nothing Power (1) power bank that could fill in the gap between the earbuds and next year’s Nothing phone.
