Even though the Nothing brand is pretty new, it has gained widespread popularity among smartphone enthusiasts thanks to the transparent aesthetic that the brand has adopted even in its business practices.
The release of the Nothing Phone (1) back in 2022 gt the band a generally positive reception among critics due to the interesting quirks and features of the device despite its affordable price point.
The company’s CEO Carl Pei, a former co-founder at OnePlus which formerly held the title “flagship killer” has been open about what went into the development and manufacturing of the Phone (1) device.
The build quality of the Phone (1) was certainly on point and many liked every bit of the device’s aesthetics which has been likened to the iPhone 14 series.

Riding on the success of the previous device, Pei has now confirmed that a new Nothing Phone (2) is in the works and would offer premium-tier specifications.
There was in fact a recent leak from a Qualcomm executive who gave a hint about the fact that the Phone (2) would potentially be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
Further leaks showed that the device could potentially sport 12GB of RAM with 256GB of onboard storage. In fact, there is said to be the possibility of boosting the RAM virtually using unused storage space.
The device will also reportedly have a high-resolution display with a fast 120Hz refresh rate and its battery capacity will be in the 5000mAh region.
To feed our curiosity, a popular content creator 4RMD has created a concept video for the device which showed us what might be the prospective Phone (2).
In the video, the design o the device seems very familiar especially the retention of the GLYPH LED just that it’s now in RGB.
The video also showed the device has thinner bezels and the display is protected via a Gorilla Glass Victus both at the front and the back.
The display is listed at 6.65 inches and has a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The video lists the device as starting from just $599 which is in line with other leaks we’ve seen recently.
It’s worth noting that this is just a concept video – the features listed within it haven’t been officially confirmed by Nothing. But it’s certainly a cool concept.
If all the predictions are true on a device with so many features and a premium-grade chipset but sold at US$599, then Nothing is up o something different entirely. But I don’t think the device will be that cheap unless there is going to be a variant whereby they’ll make a budget-friendly model and then a “Pro” model with all the high-end stuff going in on it.
But whatever it is that Nothing is cooking, we cant certainly wait to get our hands on it. Except there isn’t any official timeframe for when the device will be released.
