Even the almighty Kanye West isn’t immune to being banned by Twitter as the social media giant confirmed that it has locked the billionaire rapper out of his account after he posted an anti-Semitic tweet on Saturday.
“The account in question has been locked due to a violation of Twitter’s policies,” Twitter spokesperson Katie Rosborough said in a statement to The Verge.
The tweet is said to have been removed even though it’s been screenshotted by a lot of users.
Kanye West whose Twitter account goes by Ye wrote in his tweet “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” Ye wrote.

“The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
Kanye West hasn’t been active on Twitter in about two years but got a warm welcome from fellow billionaire Elon Musk after the former made his return to the platform.
Instagram also got his account suspended when he posted the tweet on the platform. He soon called Meta’s boss Mark Zuckerberg out for “kicking him off Instagram.”
Just this past Friday, he posted a series of screenshots on Instagram which showed exchanges between him and Sean Combs popularly known as P Diddy where he accused him of being controlled by Jewish people.
The Jewish people on the other hand aren’t happy about this and slammed him for espousing anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
Twitter hasn’t yet indicated for how long Kanye West’s account will be banned even though the general rule is that a user’s profile in “read-only mode” will get suspended between 12 hours and 7 days depending on the type of violation.
This means that Ye can’t tweet, retweet, or like any posts until the lockout lifts, but other users can still interact with his content.
Previously, there was a lot of heat on the internet about him and popular political commentator Candace Owens wearing t-shirts with the write-up “White Lives Matter” on them.
This has led to a lot of backlash from many people in the black community.
