YouTube is now attempting to make it’s platform much more interesting as the company hopes to create a software that allows for quick reply to comments under creator’s videos. Called Smart Reply, the company will be rolling out the AI-Powered feature which will help user generate appropriate replies without actually doing the typing all through the YouTube Studio. The implementation will look just like the image below.

While the naming might sound familiar with the GMail Smart Reply feature, it’s difference from the YouTube Smart Reply is that it will have integration and support for an array of languages even though for now, the languages it supports includes English and Spanish but more languages will be added in the near future.
The company further explain it’s motives in a blog post, where Google made it known that they had come up with a whole new language-processing model which will accommodate for the common usage of emoji on YouTube. With that, the feature will also suggest replies containing emoji.
“In comparison to emails, which tend to be long and dominated by formal language, YouTube comments reveal complex patterns of language switching, abbreviated words, slang, inconsistent usage of punctuation, and heavy utilization of emoji,” the blog post says.

Also the Smart Reply feature is said to be fine-tuned by the researchers to only work with comments Google think the creators are likely to engage with which is why it’s been though the comment system might not entirely work on all comments made on a particular user’s video as suggested by 9to5Gogle reports.
“Our goal is to help creators, so we have to make sure that SmartReply only makes suggestions when it is very likely to be useful,” the blog post reads. “Ideally, suggestions would only be displayed when it is likely that the creator would reply to the comment and when the model has a high chance of providing a sensible and specific response.”
With so much robots coming into help out, it might just make sense to assume that the attempt by Google is going to further help content creators on the YouTube platform focus on other things rather than spending too much time replying to comments all day long.
And away from the YouTube Smart Reply feature, Google is also said to be extending its Smart Compose feature which helps those using the GBoard complete sentences without having to actually type be able to send messages to applications such as Telegram and WhatsApp.
