The fight against the deadly Coronavirus is on and the current number had grown exponentially to about 1million confirmed cases worldwide but world governments and private organizations aren’t giving up the fight.
Another big donation came from TikTok, the viral video-sharing platform which announced it’s donation of medical equipment that are worth ₹100 crores to India. The aid will include 200,000 masks and 400,000 hazmat suits to fight the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
The Southern Asian country is the new place to be hit with the COVID-19 disease with about 2,567 confirmed cases and 72 deaths. This number might keep growing considering the population of the country which totals 1.3 billion.
The government of India had taken necessary measures to ensure her citizens are safe by enforcing a lock down on the country for 21 days which is aimed at containing the spread of the contagious disease.
But still, India is said to be in dire need of medical equipment and funds and with the help of private organizations, this needs are being met on the daily.
With TikTok also joining other big tech companies and contributing to further help contain the spread of the virus. The company is said to also be working with Union Ministry of Textile to provide medical equipment to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The donation of some 400,000 Hazmat suit to health workers who are at the front line to fend off the outbreak are really important and require to be well equipped.
Aside this, the donation is said to also include some 200,000 masks to both local and state medical workers of Delhi and Maharashtra governments. Additionally, TikTok is willing to further extend its support if there is a need in the future.
