The older Snapdragon 765/765G chipsets were both released back in December but an upgrade of this chipset is now out with 5G support as Qualcomm launched the overclocked update which is officially out today and called Snapdrahon 768G but the naming shouldn’t be a surprise though. The CPU can peak 1.8GHz and it has aN Adreno 620 GPU which clocked at 725 MHz. Below is a specs table highlighting that.
The grand chipmaker also made us realize the new chipset will deliver an immersive gaming experience and truly global 5G support. OEM customers of the chip company required an accelerated experience since the Snapdragon 765G was apparently not good enough. The Snapdragon 768G is the first 7-series platform to support Adreno Updateable GPU drivers and it can support screens of up to 120Hz refresh rate.
A lookalike of this chipset would be the Snapdragon X52 modem which is identical to the capability of the SD 765 chipset as it supports all key regions and frequency bands both on mmWave and Sub-6GHz, both SA and NSA modes and global 5G roaming. The modem-RF system can deliver at a peak of 3.7Gbps downlink speeds and up to 1.6Gbps uplink which is truly impressive. Xiaomi’s new Redmi K30 Racing Edition which is being introduced today will be the first to run on this new chipset.
