Today, there was report of a number of iOS applications crashing. The applications in question range from big brands such as Spotify, Tinder, Pinterest and even Waze with the problem said to have persisted for about two hours even though the latest is that those applications are now working fine again.
The report of the crash came after CNET reporters witnessed the event on their iPhones. Durign this scenario, applications like Pinterest, dating app; Tinder, Waze and music streaming platform Spotify’s app all crashed. Other reports were said to also include WhatsApp-clone Viber which were all reported to be crashing this morning.
While the problem seems to have persisted on iOS devices only, the problem never extended to Android platforms and Spotify acknowledged the problem on their official Twitter support handle which stated that “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out! We’ll keep you posted,”
The cause of the problem couldn’t be pinpointed as suggestions has it could be related to the Facebook’s Software development kit which is used by majority of the services to manage user vital information such as logins, analytics and ad integration Facebook on the other hand when contacted didn’t immediately respond for comment.
Spotify, Waze, Tinder and Pinterest also didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment either but the problem seems to have been resolved on some of the applications for iOS but whatever it is, we’ll surely get it out to the public in subsequent time frame.
