Google made an announcement about its Chrome App Launcher which is said to be removes from Major operating systems like Mac OSX, Windows OS, Linux.
Google says that the removal will take place gradually over the coming months, starting with disabling the launcher upon initially installing a new application in a few weeks. But as of July, the end to the App launcher will come. Apart from the fact that its now a topic, Google promises to spread the words by itself.
This according to other media outlets is said to be an attempt by Google to make its browser less bloated while in a blog post the company explicitly cited that the last summer’s removal of the Chrome notification center as an example of those efforts.
Here’s to hoping that some of this results in the browser being less of a resource hog that strains even the most resilient ultrabook’s battery life.
Although the news might sadden some but its all to a better user experience which is all what Google cares about anyway.
