Apple’s been smiling to the bank alot lately thanks to the company’s exponential growth in the tablet market which has continued to grow due to the company’s dominance on the market.
Apple’s tablet market saw a 13.6% growth in 2020 according to a new report from IDC and that can be attributed to as a positive impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Apple’s sales.
In total, the tech titan was able to ship about 164.1 million devices in 2020 compared to the 144.5 million devices which were shipped the year prior but that’s because Apple has been the dominant force in some market such as the tablet and the TWS earbuds as well as smartwatch market.
The report stated that Apple was able to ship about 19 million iPads in the firth quarter of the year 2020 alone with a total shipment of 53.2 million units last year making it cover 32.5% of the market share.
Apple isn’t the only big guy at the top as Samsung also took the second position with 10.1 million shipment of its Galaxy Tab in the fourth quarter of the same year while holding a market share of 19.1%.
Even Huawei could still manage a 9.8% market share with 16 million unit sold last year while other Chinese brands such as Lenovo, Xiaomi also took their own place in the tablet market.
