Huawei P50 series didn’t make it during the first quarter of the year and new report has it that the flagship might not be released until July.
According to this new report, there is a number of changes on the Huawei P50 series according to a leaker who stated that the Chinese tech giant still maintains its business relationship with its camera partner Leica.
The leak was published on Weibo by the user Chrysanthemum Factory Pictures Fans.

Also the leaker claims that the Huawei MatePad 2 will have to also be on hold until July. The sleek-looking PC is quite pricey and is still currently in stocking situation.

There have been rumors about Huawei running out of its stockpiled Kirin chipsets which might be one of the main reasons for the big delay holding back the release of the P50 series this year.
The US ban on Huawei has dealt a big blow on the company especially its mobile line-up to the point that it had to sell off one of its valuable asset, Honor back in late 2020.
It might as well be a reasonable thing to do for the company to also sell its smartphone line up but that might not be up for debate just yet. However, it’s usually good to bounce out when you’re still well respected just like LG.
The fact that the Chinese tech giant is struggling to find suppliers to partner with in order to get its products out there to its customers might be a big deal and that alone is a deal breaker considering the enormous competition within the smartphone market, slight delay might affect companies from reaching their annual revenue potentials unless Huawei have a little expectation for the year 2021.
Although there may have been rumors about Leica wanting to ditch Huawei, new reports suggests otherwise and both companies (Huawei and Leica) are still very much in a business relationship instead of the camera company ditching the Chinese brand for its rival tech company, Xiaomi.
Another Weibo blogger, @馬然熊猫 also claims that the Huawei MatePad 2 and P50 series will be postponed to July. According to him, the Huawei MatePad 2 has two versions. While one will arrive next month (June), the other will be released in July
What to expect from the P50 series
There isn’t anything official about the Hauwei P50 series and that’s pretty sad. There is in fact no buzz around the product from Huaweii to just keep its customers on their toes. One thing for sure is that if Huawei continues to make smartphones especially if it is to continue at its projection from the P40 series, then it might be safe to assume the P50 series will be “the first” in something this year…maybe in the camera department to or the display or whatever it is, it’s definitely going to be a mind blowing device.
Some reports suggests the device will have the “Waterfall” display which s basically an overtly curved display on the sides of the phone. The P50 Pro Plus is said to feature a quad curved display which will obviously be a big deal.
I’m expecting the device to be powered by the Kirin 9000/9000E chipset and in terms of the camera specification which is obviously what this device is built for, there are reports that it will sport the Sony’s IMX800 sensor and while that might mean a lot, there are other cool expectations we have of the device such as its battery life as well as its fast charging capability.
One of the biggest news or update or controversies about the device will be the fact that it will be shipping with the HarmonyOS out of the box according to reports. If that is true, then we’ll be able to finally get to see what the “new operating system” looks and feels like.
