Last week, I compiled a long list of tech geniuses and celebrities we lost in 2018 and despite few of them being too young, most of these people were old and have achieved a lot in their lifetime. But then another tragedy struck the tech world just yesterday when it was announced that Colin Kroll who co-founded Vine and was the current HQ Trivia CEO had passed away at the age of 35.
While his cause of death is apparently a drug overdose over the weekend, a report from from TMZ has it that Kroll’s body was discovered when police showed up for a wellness check at his New York City apartment after his girlfriend was said to have been unable to reach him for a long period of time.
Upon entering the apartment early Sunday morning, police saw Kroll’s body along with various drug related items in the area.
While there isn’t yet an official comment on the cause of his death, the fact that there were numerous drug items made it quite obvious what might have been the cause of his death prematurely.
With co-founding Vine which is a short video sharing application and then amassing the role of a CEO at HQ Trivia, one can say that Kroll was an intelligent person who despite not being famous himself, he had helped created companies that have grown audiences and lover globally.
HQ Trivia which is an online game company that gives out cash awards to winners of it’s online game became a sensation nationwide earlier this yer 2018 while maintaining user was quiwhich ngagement.
Vine on the other hand the other hand which was popular some times ago forced users to overtly become creative with 6 seconds videos which was part of what made the platform.
Some of the more successful and popular Vine users even used the platform as a launching pad for actual careers in the entertainment industry, with King Bach being one such prominent example.
