Th space mission isn’t over just yet and the International Space Station is busy for spacewalks with crew currently preparing for the third of this trip in just two weeks.

The spacewalk is set for Saturday March 13th and the extravehicular activity will be conducted by NASA astronauts Victor Glover and Michael Hopkins. Another thing is the fact that this will become the third space walk of the pair and the sixth of the current Expedition 64.

The event is expected to take about 6-and-a-half-hour to complete which will involve both aforementioned astronauts to carry out a number of tasks during the long-hour spacewalk. Among the things they’ll be doing includes replacing wireless communications antenna on the Unity Module and completing cable connections on the Bartolomeo external payload facility which is located on Europe’s Columbus lab module of the ISS.

Aside the replacement and fixing of broken communication systems, the duo will also install a stiffener on the Quest airlock thermal cover which will help stop it from exploding when residual atmosphere escapes as the hatch is opened and routing high definition video camera cables.

The Saturday’s spacewalk will be Michael Hopkin’s fifth in his entire career and this came about eight years after his debut walk back in 2013 while his counterpart Victor Glover will be embarking on his fourth EVA all of which has taken place during the current expedition.

The event will start as early as 3 a.m. PT which is when preparations will start but the duo NASA astronauts will exit the ISS at about 4:30 a.m. PT. The event will last for about six-and-a-half hour so even if you’re unable to stay awake at 4:30 a.m. which is the time the real event will commence, you can join anytime however, those in a different timezone might be able to experience the event at a moderate time.

Speaking of the spacewalk expedition, there will be numerous cameras covering the EVA with some fixed to the exterior of the ISS while the others will be attached to the astronauts themselves. There will also be live feeds of audio conversations between the astronauts and Mission Control here on Earth. There will also be commentaries explaining everything the astronauts are doing so you don’t get lost in the event.
