Google is fined yet again by a court in Moscow for failing to adhere to an order that requires the search giant to take down content banned in Russia.
The US tech giant has now been asked to pay US$52,526 or RSR 4 million for not pulling down the said banned content. This is one of the many fines Google had faced in the hands of the Russian regulatory authorities.
Google isn’t the only American tech company handed a fine as Meta also got its own fair share for its failure to remove the so-called “illegal” content in Russia.
Requests for comment from Google for declined.

The TASS news agency reported that Google had been fined for providing access to links to banned websites.
Required to pay US$52,526 might not be a big deal for Google considering the billions of dollars the company makes every year but over time, the company may face stricter regulations in Russia according to reports.
Even at that, the Russian government had been criticized by oppositions for taking on tech companies in what they call a censorship crusade.
