Apple seems to always set the standard in the industry. Remember back in 2017 when the Cupertino-based tech giant started out with the notch on its iPhone X, other Android smartphone makers jumped the ship which ultimately have evolved so fast now that we’re heading towards the under-screen cameras but that’s not the point.

When Apple released the iPhone 12 series last year without a charging brick, people were divided about the decision and appealing it is and of course, the newly announced Galaxy s21 series without the charging brick as well…. SURPSE!

Samsung also excluded its wired headphones but left only the USB Type-C cable, SIM car ejector as well as a tiny manual.

The reason for this trend is said to being a way to reduce impact on the environment however, the fact that smartphone makers chunk out new smartphones yearly should probably be reconsidered as well because obviously just chargers aren’t the only serious threat to a clean environment.

Another thing this will be for both Samsung and Apple is that they’ll save a lot of cost in the manufacturing of both he wired headphones and the charging bricks however, the fact that the cost of manufacturing might have been cut off a bit, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you as the end customer gets to keep the change.

In Apple’s case, the company seems to always pull out a hardware when it manufacturers an alternative. Remember the early days of the AirPods TWS earbuds, Apple pulled out the 3.5mm headphone jack and now the introduction of the MagSafe clip-on wireless charger allegedly brought about the end of the charging brick and rumor has it the next-gen iPhone could oust the charging port entirely and Samsung might just follow in that footstep as well.

Flagship devices which usually sport the highest specifications and everything “premium” now seems to be the product lines which gets some important components pulled out of them.

It’s no longer a news that Samsung has excluded the 3.5mm headphone jack completely from the Galaxy S series however, it was a bit disappointing that the company didn’t in fact add any TWS headphone in the case to begin with.

However, the South Korean tech giant did deducted about US$200 each from all the Galaxy S21 series which includes the S21 base model, S21 Plus and the S21 Ultra which also come with support for a stylus pen.

The COVID-19 pandemic as well as call for a greener and renewable energy seems to be the rhetoric this big tech brands are using to shape what they sell and so forth.
