Moto E7 comes with Helio G25 chipset and a large 6.5-inch display

Stock Android, good battery which is the standard of Motorola as well as good price tag

Even though Motorola is well respected as being the pioneer of mobile phones even though the company seems to have fallen off but slowly, its creeping back to take its place even though its definitely not going after the big guys like Apple or Samsung, it’s taking the market from the affordable arena.

The new Moto E7 is one of such affordable devices from the American company and it shares some similar specifications with the Moto E7 Plus even though it come with a lower price tag.

The build quality of the device includes a polycarbonate body meant to help keep the device from external stresses. Then there is a dual rear cameras with LED flash which is placed within a circular module at the middle of the phone.

The circular placement seems to be the second option for smartphone makers this year aside the new rectangular camera module setup made common by Samsung. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the camera sensors while the device comes in three different colors such as Acqua Blue, Satin Coral, and Mineral Grey.

In other areas of the device, there is the 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1600 x 720 resolution as well as a 20:9 aspect ration. Sitting at the center top is a waterdrop notch which houses the 5MP front facing camera. Meanwhile the bezels around the display is slightly thicker than the ones you’re used to seeing in high-premium smartphones.

Powering up the Motorola Moto E7 is the MediaTek’s Helio G25 chipset coupled with a 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The MicroSD to expand the storage space is hybrid and can take up to an additional 512GB of SD card.

The primary rear camera is a 48MP f/1.7 sensor which is quite interesting for an entry-level smartphone. It is paired with a 2MP camera for taking macro shots. Under the hood is a smaller 4000mAh battery than the 5000mAh one inside the Plus variant.

Charging it up can be done through a 10W charger and of course via a USB Type-C because this is 2020. It also have a dedicated Google Assistant button with support for a 3.5mm audio jack. Other notable specs also include its water repellent design with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, FM radio support and also Bluetooth 5.0. Lastly, there is the Android 10 powering the entire software up.

And the good thing about most Motorola’s devices is that you get that stock Android with no layer of extra skin or tweaks on it. Just the plain Android straight from Google which is a pretty nice thing. Compared to other brands like Xiaomi or Oppo who would usually bake ads into the software skins basically to make up for their entry-level smartphones, a practice I totally hate.

As for the pricing, report says this device would cost at about EU€119 or GB£99 while it will also be released in other regions such as Asia, Latin America and even Middle East in coming weeks. The Middle East models might be for Africa as well but there isn’t any official statement about if the devices will be officially released to the continent.
