While the release date for the iOS 16 isn’t specified just yet, the software update is expected to drop sometime during the fall. And if you’re already planning to buy any of the forthcoming iPhone 14 series, those devices should surely come with the iOS 16 update out of the box. The flagship devices are expected to be announced by September if everything goes right.

How to find out which iPhone you have

Considering the similarities in the design of the iPhones since the older models, you might be confused about your own model. So in order to check what type of iPhone model you are currently using, head over to the Settings app and then scroll to “General” and “About”.

From there, you should see your device’s “Model Name” as well as the device’s “Model Number” which can be used to find out more specifications of your device model including its release year, battery capacity and so operating system.
