Samsung made the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE) official in India back in October making it the most affordable of the Galaxy S20 line-up and it was powered by the Exynos 990 chipset and 4G network connection.

The latest is that the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) recently approved a new Samsung with the model number SM-G781B/DS whose product page on the same device appeared on Samsung’s Indian official website with suggestions hinting that this could be the 5G edition of the Galaxy S20 FE.

The reason for the certainty in this speculation is due to the fact that the older Galaxy S20 FE 4G released back in October in India had the model number SM-G780 while the new one has the SM-G781 model number which could make it belong to the 5G line-up because obviously, that’s the new trend since 2020.

One big question I’m asking myself is that will this device be powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset even though Samsung seems to always reserve this chipset for its American and other markets but India.

The listing of the Galaxy S20 FE on both the BIS and Samsung’s official website in India could suggest how soon users will be able to get their own version of this Snapdragon-powered high-end device.

The Galaxy S20 FE 5G is definitely be an interesting device with pretty decent list of specifications such as a massive 6.5-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a fast 120Hz refresh rate.

In the camera department, it sports a single 32-MP front facing camera with a 12MP main sensor at the back with another 12MP which is an ultrawide lens with OIS and lastly a 12MP telephoto sensor making it a triple setup.

The device also come with a massive 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage with a microSD support. Massive 4500mAh battery with 25W fast charging and 15W wireless charging with a retail price that starts from US$686.
