The Mayor of Fort Lauderdale Dean J. Trantalis has announced that the city has formally accepted The Boring Company’s proposal for a transit system which will be called the Las Olas Loop.

“Other firms have 45 days to submit competing proposals,” Mayor Tranalis added in his announcement. “This could be a truly innovative way to reduce traffic congestion.”

The proposal was shared back in July 1st by the Mayor who made it clear that the city had received proposal from The Boring Company to build an underground transit loop between the city’s downtown area connecting it to the beach.

Talks about building such infrastructure and an agreement between The Boring Company and Fort Lauderdale had been in the news for a while and it seems The Boring Company has reportedly proposed to build underground tunnel downtown in New River as well as a bigger project which would eventually lead up to the beach.

Based on the scarce details about TBC’s proposed transit system in Fort Lauderdale, The Las Olas Loop may start in Las Olas Boulevard. The area is filled with boutiques, restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and bars and should be the ideal place to start such as many people can easily have access to the loop system.

The Argentino Las Olas restaurant which serves gourmet Argentinian food such as empanadas and tapas with beer and wine is located at the city as well. There is also the Asia Bay Sushi Bar & Thai restaurant.

There are a few art galleries in the area as well, like the New River Fine Art Gallery or the National Geographic Fine Art Gallery. Las Olas Boulevard also has a few jewelry shops and antique furniture stores.

The strategic spot would be a good start for The Boring Company in the city and the ease to move freely from one place to the other through the loop system will further attract more tourists and visitors to the place.

Just as the Vegas Loop in Las Vegas, the Las Olas Loop will be another achievement for The Boring Company as it aims to simplify transportation.
