The killing of George Floyd has brought global attention to the inequalities and abuse of power in the US and other countries towards people of color and this had lead to a worldwide protest and that sight makes me happy considering the fact that the world had been more united in 2020 more than ever first over the deadly Coronavirus and now against oppression and abuse. Facebook Political group discussion is necessary for people to have a way of expressing their political believes freely.
Facebook is another company aiming to use it’s platform as a place to further the battle right up against the plague of racial abuse which had been destroying our human race for thousands of years and as a matter of fact, the World War II was as a result off racial inequalities when the Nazis believed they were superior to other races on the planet murdering millions of people across Europe.
Groups are places where good discussions are held on Facebook and the recommendation by the company to Group administrators to further include more people of color among their team of moderators is meant to help strengthen the discussions about race and more.
But one big issue with moderation has been that many groups do not want to appear as political leading them to either delete posts which are politically motivated or just suspend the group for sometimes. This according to reports has been ongoing for sometimes.

Facebook which actively tries to promote free speech on it’s platform had addressed the political ban which many group follow while encouraging the admins to create specific lists o topics which aren’t allowed. According to the recommendation, Facebook had previously enjoyed groups to create list o rules which are meant to help conversations. We aim to do the same on our Facebook page with political group discussion.
Another thing which the social media giant further encouraged is that admins should be more open to allowing people of color right on as moderators and be open to changes.
“We know these conversations are hard and reflect ongoing disparities in our society,” Facebook writes. “They are also necessary, and we hope that we can continue to help you facilitate ongoing discussions and learning.”
One thing for sure is that real actions needs to be taken and governments of different countries the world should further unite in order to combat racism and perpetrators of this great offence against humanity.
