Considering the fact that Andy Rubin was Android co-founder, his coming on the mobile phone industry was supposed to be a threat to the likes of Samsung and even Huawei but the innovation; The Essential Phone never lived up to it’s expectations. This is why the device product line will be coming to an end according to an announcement made by the company via 9to5Google. While it’s spotted earlier on by Droid Life that the phones are out of stock, Essential will not be making any more of the Phones.
While fans and lover of the works of Andy Rubin’s Essential had hoped for a better product, the company had also made it known that it will be working on a newer mobile device which had been rumored to be a tiny device that uses AI to answer emails and text messages.
In a statement gotten from the company’s spokesperson, the confirmation of what type of device the company is currently working on isn’t directly confirmed but the word “Mobile Product” could mean a variety of things. The statement gotten states:
We are sold out of Essential Phone on essential.com and won’t be adding any new inventory. We are now hard at work on our next mobile product and will continue to sell accessories and provide speedy software updates and customer support to our existing community.

With loads of controversies, scandals, poor sales and employee layoffs, Essential from my point of view isn’t expected to suddenly throw in a comeback stunt at us with it’s “Mobile Product”, the fact that Andy Rubin himself had several allegations against him as well as the company being up for sale, one might not really expect the company to suddenly bounce back essentially.
Despite discontinuing the production of the Essential Phone, the company still offers a fast software update to the device and the promise to do so on a subsequent period makes the company’s customers rest assured they won’t be using a device that could suddenly get outdated one day.
