Huawei isn’t done yet with the release of its EMUI updates even though the Chinese tech giant is slowly but surely moving away from Android altogether and adopting its own proprietary operating system called HarmonyOS.
The new kid on the block is the EMUI 12 which is expected to come with some cool features and an enhanced user interface with tons of device controls.
While we’re not sure what is the core software Huawei will be using to power the EMUI 12 skin when it’s released, the close similarities between Android-based EMUI and HarmonyOS-based EMUI are very obvious.
But if you don’t really care about the core of the future operating system but just the functionalities as well as the user interface’s design tweaks, then it might be worth the wait for you.
Huawei has decided to opt for a more simplistic design with the EMUI 12 according to reports. The usage of rounded corners and gradients, as well as a flat interface, gives the new software skin some intuitive look and feel.
The implementation of animation is yet another interesting thing about the new EMUI 12 skin and that includes smooth scrolling, transitions, and drop-down animations.
I don’t want to go about singing praises of EMUI 12 but at least it’d be a good idea to first get a glimpse of how well it’s built before I can conclude on whether it’s a great option.
Also, the fact remains that the system has completely without Google Service which sort of niched Huawei’s devices to those who don’t like Google or those who reside within the great walls of China.
Huawei continues to make great hardware and the EMUI 12 will further cement you into the company’s product ecosystem which includes smart home appliances, wearable devices, earbuds, smart TVs, PC, and so forth.
