Hyundai is great at designing good looming cars for the budget. The Elantra is one of those great looking cars since it went through a major redesign back in 2012 and beyond and its infact one of the big penetrator into the US automotive market and the fact that it was one of the top selling vehicles back in 2019 means a lot to Hyundai which means the 2020 model will be even more interesting.
Considering many interesting facts such as some mechanical revamps which had led to the dissmisal of the six-speed manual and automatic transmission in the car but opting rather for a continously variable transmission. Also, the 2020 Hyundai Elantra comes in five new colors with more interesting interior features that makes it interesting and safety features.
Powertrain and specifications
Pertaining to the revamp mentioned above, Hyundai has added two transmission and three engines to the 2020 Elantra which will in turn enhance its fuel efficiency from its new CVT with an EPA-rated increase of two combined miles per gallon based on official spec sheet.
How that translate in real life is that the Elantra SE will now be having a 35MPG combined while the SEL, Value Edition and Limited edition will get 34MPG altogether. These models all use the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as before, rated at 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque.
But say you’re not a big fan of the CVT, the 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission can get on with Eco and Sport trims. These use Hyundai’s 1.4-liter turbo I4 and 1.6-liter turbo I4 engines, respectively. The Eco trim is EPA-estimated to achieve 33 mpg city, 41 mpg highway and 36 mpg combined when paired with that dual-clutch gearbox.
Interior design of the 2020 Hyundai Elantra
What’s more interesting about this car is the interesting interior design if the vehicle. It comes with a Dual-zone automatic Climate control system. There is a scale up for the models with 2.0-litre engine which gives it more efficiency, positive temperature coefficient (PTC) Heater.
One of the fancy feature of the PTC Heater is that it doesn’t rely on hot engine coolant to get the job done. You should note that long-term maintenance should be less of a hassle than dealing with traditional heater cores, which tend to be more complex to fix if they fail.
The sstandard model comes with Bwige6amd Black cloth seats while the Limited and Sport edition offers similarly colored-leather.
A sunroof comes standard in the Value Edition and Sport trims, but is optional for the Limited trim, as well. The Elantra Sport also features paddle shifters, more heavily bolstered front seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a revised instrument cluster and other small tweaks. The Elantra’s rear seats will split 60/40 and fold to assist with larger objects, but the trunk’s cargo capacity is still plentiful at 14.4 cubic feet. If you’re looking for the most utility, consider the Elantra GT hatchback.
It’s 2020 and we all have expectations of what an ideal car must function like. But as you’ll expect, Hyundai never fails to equip its car with stabdard technology to better enhance the overall experience of the vehicle.
The 2020 Hyundai Elantra comes with safety and convenience tech which have always been in high demands. These technologies help in Forward-Collision avoidance, Lane-Keep Assistant À driver fatigue monitoring system, rear-view camera and Bluetooth system and even 5-inch color infotainment display. Hyundai gives the option to opt for a bigger 8-Inch screen with navigation and real-time traffic information, Hyundai’s Blue Link connected-car system, Wireless charging and even an eight-speaker infinity premium sound system.
There is also both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay which comes with both the SEL and Standard models or even higher models.
And sspeaking of high-tech inclusion, the more expensive the model of the 2020 Hyundai Elantra comes more features. A good example would be the pedestrian detection that is paired with the Forward-Collision avoidance system, adaptive cruise control and Safe Exit Assist which gives alert when a car approaches you from the back letting you know it might be unsafe to open the door to exit the vehicle. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert and lane-change assist are available on all trims but the SE.
