The same that wants to help our world when our population eventually blow out, he planned to help us get to the Red Planet Mars. This same genius is behind one of the most innovative automobile company in the world, Tesla. Elon Musk told us casually back in 2012 about a truck that is very unusual but of course the man delivered that with the new Tesla Cybertruck.
This is the first production pickup truck by Tesla and it’s a full electric truck which even made everything interesting. The vehicle looks exactly like some Sc-Fi movie prop-car but nah…this is a real production car that you’ll start seeing on the road by 2021.
Aside being unusually designed to look very futuristic or “Weird”, the truck measures 231.7 inches long and it’s 75-Inches tall with 6 seating spaces which is really interesting because most modern trucks don’t support that much passengers. Comparing the Tesla Cybertruck to let’s say the Ford F-150 which measures between 209 and 250-inches long as well as 80 to 86-inches wide while it’s height is about 75 to 78.5-inches tall, that makes the Cybertuck more interesting as it could still fit in 6 people within the quite smaller body.
The Tesla Cybertuck isn’t just unusual in every sense, it’s performance is also unusual. Elon Musk had claimed the truck will reach a whooping 60 MPH in just 2.9 seconds before continuing through the quarter-mile marker under just 11 seconds.
Despite this capability, the Cybertruck is still a great off-road vehicle offering an interesting 35-degree approach angle, a 28-degree departure angle and up to 16-inches of ground clearance. Three ranges will be on offer, with “250-plus” miles at the low end and an astounding “500-plus” miles at the top
The Tesla Cybertruck is built with a stainless steel alloy which makes the truck very strong and even Elon Musk put that into testing live during its unveiling. Musk requested one of his team strike the vehicle with a sledgehammer but there was obviously no effect. He claimed the Cybertruck can withstand certain types of small arms fire.
The electric truck definitely looked rugged and is capable of towing about 14,000 pounds of object. A video demonstration of this was played which showed the Cybertruck pulling out the Ford F-150.
Aside being really interesting, Rivian is another company that aimed at dominating the Electric truck industry. Rivian R1T promises more than 400 miles of range and 700 horsepower with 1 0-to-60 times of 3.2, 11,000 pounds of towing and 1,764 pounds of payload with a starting price of $69,000 but Cybertruck might have shattered that.
Even another company, Bollinger is working on similar concept which is an all electric rugged pickup truck which is expected to have as high as 614 Horsepower and 668 pound-foot of torque and can tow about 7,500 pounds and haul a whooping 5,201 pounds but it’s pricing is quite on the high-end costing $125,000.
Cybertruck is expected to start as low as $39,000 making it much cheaper than its competitors despite offering much quality features and features and it looks very unusual as well. All these could give the Tesla Cybertruck a big success and considering how satisfactory Tesla cars are, people can trust this which would give Tesla a better edge above the others in the industry.
