Popular live-streaming platform Streamlabs has announced it will be rolling out a monthly tipping system that will enable streamers to earn money from their fans.
With this new service, streamers will be able to showcase the kind of subscriptions they offer as well as being able to integrate directly with Streamlab’s OBS software suite for streaming to WTich, YouTube, and Facebook all from the system.
The new Streamlabs Creator Subscription will be as simple as the earlier donation tools as well as the tipping feature which currently exists on the platform. Creators can then enable or disable monthly tips in settings along with setting specific subscription prices. There’s also the option to allow viewers tip whatever amount they want and send redeemable monthly tip notifications during a stream.
The tipped money will then be deposited directly in the creator’s PayPal account because Streamlabs made it known that it won’t be taking any cut even though the payments are subject to payment processing fees.
The fact that Twitch takes about 50% of subscription revenue from its streamers will make Streamlab’s service more competitive and allow streamers to make more money off their work.
