For those of you that love the Avengers: Endgame, the Disney’s latest blockbuster had just smashed the box office yet again with a record sales of $1.2 Billion in it’s global sales just in it’s opening weekend according to Variety.
The Avengers: Endgame is the 8th of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) to cross the billion-dollar mark and one outstanding thing about the movie is how quick it was to hit that hallmark. The movie was so hot that it smashed the Forced Awakens opening day record from 2015 with a $305 million global sales . This time, the Avengers: Endgame went on and earned a whooping $300 Million in the US over the course of the weekend.
Disney’s franchise movies had slowly dominated the box office for quite a while now considering movies like The Force Awakens setting a record in 2015 with a $17 Million sales globally just on it’s opening weekend, Black Panther making as huge as $426 Million on it’s own opening weekend and then the last year’s Avengers: Infinity War crossing a huge $630 Million on it’s opening weekend, the Avengers: Endgame is so quick to cross that billion dollar mark.
The Chinese box office is noticeably the helper this time around in the success of the Endgame. The movie sold as huge as $329 Million during it’s opening weekend in the far east country which was a bit different as with the case of the last year’s Avengers: Infinity War. The Endgame in fact isn’t the only Disney film to join that club this year: Captain Marvel crossed the line earlier this month.
Marvel’s success over the industry isn’t a joke and of course didn’t start one day. The company had made enormous payoff for the Marvel superhero franchise which started some 11 years back while the Iron Man premiered.

That film included an end-credits scene that opened up the possibility of the larger, interconnected universe which has since played out over 22 films. Avengers: Endgame kind of success is what you get after long decade of hard work and labor while developing and building each character to fill in it’s own within the MCU.
Whatever happens next after the Endgame becomes unknown. While most of us already trust Marvel of always pulling out what we love and enjoy watching, the company’s head Kevin Feige assured the company is even working on at least 220 more movies “that are completely different from anything that’s come before.” But whatever it is Marvel Studio is working on, we all expect it to be amazing and those future superheroes are much more amazing which will increase the MCU success and dominance in the industry.
