In a recent report which was published by The Information, Apple Siri executive, Bill Stasior who had been overseeing the project since the departure of the founders Adam Cheyer and Dag Kittlaus bac in 2012 will be stepping down from his role.
Satsior who came from Amazon to oversee the Apple’s Siri development in 2012 will not be leaving the company though but his position will be temporarily taken by another Apple official John Giannandrea who is an experienced and a senior Vice President Of Machine Learning and AI Strategy at Apple until a better replacement is gotten for the role.
His vision is to “focus more on long-term research” with Siri, rather than make incremental improvements. Giannandrea has joined in April 2018, taking on the role of leading machine learning and AI strategy, and was promoted to SVP in December 2018.
