Audi officially confirmed that there would be a performance-oriented RS E-Tron GT which had been in the news for a pretty long time now. To confirm the rumor, Audi made a release of the expected specifications to be expected in the vehicle when it finally make its debut.
Being a performance-oriented vehicle, Audi made a statement about some important things to expect when the car finally get released and that’s the fact that the RS E-Tron GT will sport two electric motors which will be distributed to each of the vehicle’s axle in order to produce a big 590 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle’s top speed would peak 155Mph.
The dual electric motors to be featured in the car will spiral the car to reach 62Mph under just 3.5 seconds but there isn’t any specific figure from Audi’s part aside this.
Compaed to the Porsche Taycan, the Audi’s figures place it between the 429-to-482-horsepower of the Taycan 4S and the 616-horsepower Taycan Turbo. Considering the Taycan Turbo needs just 3 seconds to hit 60 mph, the little known specifications of the RS E-Tron GT shouldn’t be too far from reaching this type of high speed in a short amount of time as well.
But aside this, other interesting things Audi shared about the RS E-Tron GT includes the fact that it’ll sport a 93.4-kilowatt-hour Li-Ion battery just as seen in the Porsche Taycan 4S.
The vehicle is expected to also sport three chamber air suspension setup with rear-axle steering along for the ride which would pivot the rear wheels up to 3 degrees in either direction to improve low-speed cornering and high-speed agility.
Audi will make available three types of brakes just as the ones found in Porsche and that includes the standard Iron brakes which will have a surface-coated option in the middle and then ceramics at the top of the pile.
The release of the RS E-Tron GT according to Audi should be by the coming summer. Meanwhile the interesting things about the vehicle is how well it’ll be built with the powerful speed delivery among others. As for the asking price, nothing official.
