A number of Egyptian archaeologists were able to discover 16 human burial chambers right outside of Alexandria among which is a human skull with a golden tongue. While you might have concluded straight up that this could be some alien creature with human skull, its basically an amulet that is made of gold foil which suggestion points to as a way of preventing the dead from speaking again afterlife according to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said in a Facebook post dated Friday.

The archaeologists were working at the temple of Taposiris Magna in western Alexandria. One mummy wore a crown decorated with horns, a cobra at its forehead, and a “gilded decoration depicting a necklace, from which hangs the head of a falcon, the symbol of the god Horus.”

But this wouldn’t be the first time that a golden tongue amulet would be found on a mummy as previous discoveries are said to have been housed at the Penn Museum in Philadelphia, The New York Times reports.

The newly discovered mummies are more than 2,000 years old. The aims of the archaeologists is to find the tomb of one of Egyptian’s famous queen Cleopatra even though the location of her tomb is yet to be found.
