Apple has kicked in to support it’s employees during the COVID-19 pandemic by designing and manufacturing its own face mask.
Bloomberg reported that the face mask is dubbed Apple Face Mask which has three layers of material to filter out particles. But there is also the ClearMask from the same company which was the first completely clear surgical mask that has been approved by the FDA.
The materials of the ClearMask allows people who are deaf or hard at listening to lipread other people as they’re able to see others mouthing words at them. The report further made it known that the Face Mask is being made 100% by Apple while the ClearMask is being sourced from third-party manufacturer.
The tech giant will start sending out the new masks to its corporate and retail employees over the next couple of weeks.

In terms of design, the face mask has some really unique design with large coverings both at the top and bottoms to keep the nose and chin safe. It also sports adjustable strings which can be used to make the face mask more fitting.
It is not yet known if the company plans to manufacture these new masks for external use. Apple Store policy requires employees and customers to wear face masks, with Apple Stores distributing masks to customers upon entering the store.
