Google has finally released the first Android 12 developer beta which is another major upgrade of the popular mobile operating system.

Developers can now get this update as a public beta by May for those who want to test the new OS for Google. And as for the final release, it won’t happen until later on this year which could be by August or September assuming Google follow the same release cycle which it has followed the previous years.

As for the features, Google hasn’t made any announcement yet about the next-gen Android 12 but there is said to be some tweaks which would make the software much better than the previous version.

For enterprise users, changes are coming to the way Android handles work profiles, simplifying device password requirements and better certificate management on an app-basis. 

Consumer-facing changes aren’t all that exciting right now, with Google’s developer notes revealing changes to media, security, connectivity, and notification changes. However, I’d expect that once developers (and those who like to live on the bleeding edge) install the first beta, we’ll find plenty has changed. 

It’s not advisable to install the developer beta on a main device just yet because of issues and bugs which could affect your device. You can install it on a test device at lest until the public beta is released.
