What to expect during the Microsoft’s event

Microsoft has already teased a series of products which we might be see getting officially announced to the world. But to be specific about these, here are the products we expect to be announced.

Dual-screen Centaurus

This would be a dual-screen Surface device which we heard the company had been working on for quite a while at least 2 years and it’s said to be codenamed “Centaurus”.

Earlier this year, Microsoft demoed the device while showing a “sizzle video for new Surface devices and dual-screen prototype hardware”. Employees reportedly formed long lines to look at the device.

The last we heard, Microsoft wanted to release its dual-screen Surface in 2020. Perhaps Microsoft will preview it soon? However, ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley, who knows Redmond inside and out, said Microsoft likely won’t introduce it yet.

Surface laptops and tablets

One product Microsoft will definitely announce today is the Surface laptops and tablet lineup which are said to be the upgrades to the previous generations launched last year.

There are even rumors that there will be a Surface Pro 2-in-1 computer with a USB-C as well as an AMD-based Surface Laptop then a new Intel-based Surface Laptop and also a new ARM-Based Surface Device and even the Surface Hub could get upgraded and be renamed the Surface Hub 2X.

Although everyone probably wants to see Centaurus most, in actuality, Microsoft will likely only introduce updates to its Surface laptop and tablet lineup. There are rumours floating around about a new Intel-based Surface Pro 2-in-1 with USB-C, an AMD-based Surface Laptop, a new Intel-based Surface Laptop, a new ARM-based Surface device, and even an upgraded Surface Hub called Surface Hub 2X.

Surface portable speaker

Microsoft could introduce a Surface-branded portable speaker. It will reportedly be business-focused and built around Microsoft Teams. ZDNet said it also could be used with “Teams for Life,” an rumoured version of Teams for families.

Finally, the Windows 10X

Microsoft has been rumoured to be developing a pared-down version of Windows 10 to compete with ChromeOS. Called Windows 10X, it’s expected to power Microsoft’s dual-screen Centaurus as well as other third-party devices.

What is your thought about the Microsoft Surface event? Do let us know in the comment section below and don’t forget to share and also come back for the Microsoft Surface Live event on Brumpost TV.
