Because of its need to fight better against competitions like Skoda Fabia, Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa, Kia are trying new things out with its third generation Rio to make it better and smarter.
Spy shots have caught the test out of the prototype of the new 2017 Kia Rio at the Northern Sweden. Before making its official debut later the year, the winter test out is what is being on going with the Kia Rio.
Although wrapped out with Black tarp and thick layer of vinyl, the styling of the Kia Rio can still be seeing via spy shots. Kia can never be accused of making dull cars, and the Korean brand tries to reinvent each all designs with each generation. Such was the case recently with the Sportage SUV and Optima mid-sized sedan.
It seems like there are some resemblance between the Current Kia Forte model and the 2017 Kia Rio. The headlights will be available as projectors and they are likened to have a full-LED option. The rear bumper on the order side have a diffuser Luke feature while the taillights are getting broader. The newer design makes it look quiet beautiful and better than its meant to be.
With slightly bigger design and more stretched out wheelbase, the new designed vehicle might be new innovation that sets Kia apart making it sound its best.
As with the Forte, the focus may be placed on offering more standard or optional features than we traditionally expect from this segment. For example, we see turn signals integrated into the mirrors and all-round parking sensors, likely linked to an autonomous parking option.
The new vehicle will be available in 1 liter turbocharged engine. Its 3-cylinder unit will have a turbocharged intercooler and will be shared with the Carens. Although there have been any announcement on Gearbox options as of yet though the old 4 speed being replaced with 6 speed dual clutch unit which Kia had developed might be a very incredible change that consumers likely want.
No word on gearbox options yet, but we’d like to see the old 4-speed being replaced by the 6-speed dual clutch unit Kia has developed.
Nearly one month ago, Kia motors announced that a hot version of Kia Rio has been given its green light. So the official name will be the Rio GT and its schedules for sales will be as far as 2018 with a powerful 1.6 liter turbo e fine that will easily deliver a 180 HP.
