Some 16 years back, the Matrix universe changed the face of the Hollywood movie industry forever and with just 3 sequels, the company behind the successful movie, Warner Bros. has confirmed the reboot of the fourth installment of the movie which is set to start production by 2020. Good news is Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss are going to be reprising their roles while Lana Wachowski will be involved as the director, co-producer and co-writer of the movie according to reports gotten from Variety.
According to Lana Wachowski, who was asked why the company is working to bring back the movie, she claimed that that majority of the themes of the Matrix Trilogy are even more relevant to the modern era and if you think about it, the movie setting and theme will really fit in to the modern world of AI and other interesting invention that started some 10 years.
The looming question (apart from whether or not it will be any good) revolves around picking up where the first three movies left off. The basic premise is easy — there were hints Neo might return after establishing a peace with the machines — but there are a lot unanswered questions. What upsets the truce (which, we’d add, persisted in Monolith’s The Matrix Online)? And how does Trinity come back?
Another thing for sure is the fact that Keanu Reeves is like the new beloved face of the Hollywood action movie genre who is currently enjoying lots of attentions from the media and the general public right now. And so why wouldn’t the Warner Bros. take advantage of that. But whatever it is, we hope the movie will be interesting and make us lovers of action movies proud.
