There have been numerous leaks about what to expect when the iPhone 12 finally make it out to the market this fall with leaks from the device’s display, the number of iPhone 12 to expect and even the design of the hardware chassis.
There is now a supposed specification of the iPhone 12 Pro Max based on the leak channel via Twitter @LeaksApplePro, showing the major upgrades of the device and hat will set it apart from the previous iPhone 11 Pro Max.
While the channel has a mixed track record of accurate leaks, the tipster did claim the news is from a “reliable source that got a lot of things right” and the specs are based on screenshots of marketing material.
But anyway, there won’t be too much of an upgrade this time around based on the leaks. The device is said to sport the new Apple A14 Bionic chipset with a fourth-generation Neural Engine as well as an IP68 splash, water and dust resistance aside the previous mentions of OLED displays on all of the iPhone 12 devices as well as 5G modem.
Other leaked information about the iPhone 12 Pro Max tipped the device to being the largest with a 6.7-inch display with a True Tone OLED display and HDR resolution measuring 2788 x 284. There was also tips based on a video leak about the iPhone 12 Pro Max sporting a 120Hz refresh rate.
Aside that, the camera specification is what is even much more interesting about the leaks which according to LeaksApplePro stated that the iPhone 12 Pro Max will sport a triple-camera setup at the back of the device which is made up of a 16MP Ultra-wide, wide angle and telephoto lenses as well as the support for LiDAR sensor which is thought of being only present on the Pro Max model but not the others.
The LiDAR sensor is expected to help with the device’s autofocus and subject detection in video recording and when using the device’s night mode based on Jon Prosser in his revelations about the device.
The cameras will have the same aperture range of those in the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but they will come with an “Advanced Night mode” and enable 4K video recording at up to 120 frames per second. Slo-mo video recording will measure in at 120fps or 240fps at 4K; the iPhone 11 Pro Max could only do so at 1080p.
Majority of these leaks tally with what Jon Prosser has said but there is even much more to that based on what a Twitter account said about the iPhone 12 Pro Max’s camera and that is the the inclusion of the so-called “Next-generation smart HDR” and a suite of effects for the “Portrait lighting” mode.
There seems to be a corresponding likeness between both the leaks from both Jon Prosser and @LeaksApplePro even though there have been doubts about the accuracy of their leaks.
It could be worth the wait as the iPhone 12 series will finally be revealed later on by September or early October by then we’ll know what to see or see what we’ve always wanted but Apple can be sometimes very unpredictable sometimes.
