Success is possible for everyone that’s the usual saying. But in reality, not many of us are successful or let me say as successful as we’d really want to be.

Although there are many things that hinders success which if well avoided, we can have a really change of story about our lives.

But that’s not to say that we can just suddenly become successful by merely avoiding unsuccessful things.
But as it may be, I’ve seen way too many successful people in my entire life at different levels in life and that makes me wonder how come this individual is more successful that the others who are both doing this same thing. The answer to this question is routed within my opinion about the secrets of successful people.

THEY NEVER PROCRASTINATE

Where I formerly worked, a colleague Abe was always heads up in his doings for the company. Apart from his ability to get things on himself, he just do what he has to do when he’s supposed to do it. And that earned him a really good side of his life and son, he would be another successful startup owner.

Procrastination isn’t just about delaying things for unknown reasons but even not willing to take the time out to do what’s supposed to be done is a really bad way that leads to failure hence the success individual’s lifestyle.

THEY HAVE POSITIVE THOUGHTS

Positivity isn’t a game of the mind. It’s a thing of the spirit. It requires a lot of energy to believe that something will turn out good. Successful people know this and so the spirit of positive thoughts is routed right within their minds.

On the other end of the quadrants, people who aren’t as successful usually feel most things they’re doing or will do might end up in failure. So they’re either afraid of doing it or just pushing it forward.

Although not everything always turn out to be positive as it’s thought to be but think that in fact the smallest thing they’re doing will turn out positive is a good heads up for successful people.

THEY CARE MORE ABOUT VALUES

Another great thing I’ve learnt from successful individuals in my entire life is that they only care about adding values to others. Now don’t get me wrong.

Everyone wants to be successful but what differentiate the successful people from the others is how much they’re willing to give to the society. How much they’re willing to help simplify lives and how they’re willing to solve complex problems. And that’s where their positive mindsets comes in.

Abe is always constantly thinking about how he could help make working simpler for his colleagues which is something not many of us even cared about.
Successful people always want to help others solve their problems. Such mindset in combination with their positivity earns them success.

THEY ARE CONSTANT LEARNERS

Ask Bill Gate, Jeff Bezos, Any big figure at the peak of success what they regularly do at their leisure time and they’ll simply tell you “I read good books.” Reading is a very good way of learning things. This is a trait found in successful people.

Apart from reading to learn, they also learn from others. They watch people closely and the society more. They are open minded and so it’s always easy for them to pick one or two good things even from an ordinary person.

THEY THINK BEYOND THE SURFACE

This is an experience I had with a big business owner Jin. He’s a great thinker and he’s constantly included whenever the board is having a hard time figuring things out.

What sets Jin apart is how he thinks. Jin would chip in things from the negative side but still correlates with the positive and then brings out the positive result. He’s sort of a Yin-yang fanatics.
While that is a great thing, not many people can approach tough situations like that. But successful people simply have the ability to make things happen easily.

THEY ARE FRIENDLY

“The moment you make one enemy, then you’ve lost one customer”. That’s what I usually have my own dad telling me while I was growing up.

As a successful business owner, he was constantly making friends with people and he’s naturally friendly himself.
Successful people believe that others are needed in their lives as they can never achieve anything without the help of others by their sides.

This is why successful people are the most friendly people you’ll ever meet. Unlike the others who who do just the opposite easily.

THEY KNOW HOW TO MANAGE TIME

There is time to work and time to rest. Successful are sort biological in that they understand that to have a fresh start in their daily lives, they need to make their brain rest so that they could regain their energy and further up with their daily routine.

One thing I had many successful people say on Quora when I asked “What do you do when you’re trying to figure something out but it’s not coming” is that you leave it and sleep it over. You’ll figure it out when your brain becomes calm. And that’s true.

THEY ACCEPT CHANGES

Everyday, the world changes. From the way we communicate with each other to the way we eat or what we wear.
Successful people adapt quickly to changes.

They know that the world isn’t static and so they always adopt new trends or even create one themselves. Unlike the others that try to stick to the old ways of doing things or lacking behind while others are speeding forward in achieving what people wants.

THEY ASK AND THEY LISTEN

Aside learning from others and picking up positive things, they always ask questions when they don’t know things.

Yeah because even the best geniuses among us are all humans. So you cannot possibly know everything in this world.
Successful people know their capabilities and their limitations. They ask questions when they’re confused about things and therefore they ask you questions about it.

Their ability to ask questions is routed in their ability to listen. If they’re not actively listening to you, they won’t be able to pick up lines to ask as questions.

THEY ARE GREAT TEAM PLAYERS

Even Mark Zuckerberg admitted that his ability to lead a team of better developers and software engineers makes his company a success.

Check anyone in your company or your next desk colleagues who you feel is more successful than you and see how they handle teamwork.

They have the ability to push things up and shoulder many responsibilities. This gives them the ability to learn and understand things while still putting up their best efforts into ensuring the success of whatever operation they’re carrying out.

THEY DON’T RUN FROM RISKS

As the old saying goes “Every businesses are risky” and that is true.
Successful as rational as they always seems to be are always willing to take risks. They’re never afraid to put themselves out there leaving their comfort zone behind. They are constantly trying something new out and that’s a great way of dealing with things.

While failure might come, they learn from this as they’re constant learners and avoid the error in their next endeavour. It’s always a win win for them on the long term.

THEY UTILIZE OPPORTUNITIES FAST

Yeah they’re constantly learning. They’re willing to risk failure to achieve success but they’re not time wasters.
Successful people know quickly learn what works best for them and what doesn’t.

Rather than procrastinating on their failure or crying over their failed attempts to create something, they just move on to the next one.

Since they realise that time is life, successful people always jump to what works best instead of nagging over failures which is a regular trait found in unsuccessful people who will soon become afraid to try something else out because they failed in their last attempt.

THEY TAKE RESPONSIBILITIES

Because they always seem themselves as the forerunner, they always take responsibilities for everything. Instead of blaming others for their failures or shaming a teammate for their lower capacity to achieve a goal at a given period, they simply take responsibility for everything and try to adjust things to make their next attempt a success. This trait is a very powerful tool found in successful people at all levels.

It was after noticing all these traits I realised that there is a big difference between successful people and the other people that are even doing the same thing.
Success can be achieved at any level in life and being able to manage and develop your skills to achieve a greater height is a key part to success.

What type of person are you? The aforementioned qualities are nearly applicable to most successful people all around the globe which is what sets them apart for success among their competitors and peers.
