The release of the Apple WatchOS7 and iOS 14 during the WWDC 2020 made headlines because of the amazing features this new technology will be sporting. But enough of the hype. This post, we’ll discuss how to create and share Apple Watch faces for iOS 14 and WatchOS 7 respectively.

While both operating systems’ stable versions aren’t officially released just yet, we expect them to be announced alongside the devices when Apple will be making it’s big time unpacking later on this year although reports says there might be some delays as to the regular period when Apple will release its devices such as the much anticipated iPhone 12, Apple Watch 6 etc.

One thing Apple didn’t include on the WatchOS7 which had led to some criticizing the operating system is that it will not be supporting third-party developers t create and sell their own watch faces just as it’s been since the beginning but the fact that people can share this make a good news for users who just want to have a similar watch face like their friend or partner etc.

How to create and share Apple Watch faces

You are now able to create a Watch face from within the Apple Watch that supports the WatchOS 7 and then share it with those who have similar operating systems as well as the iOS 14 for the mobile version. So here is how to do it.

For iOS 14 users

In order for you to be able to share your watch face on your iPhone, you must first download the latest iOS 14 mobile operating system and then follow this short guide to achieve the process.

  1. First, tap the Watch app on your smartphone.
  2. Next thing is to select an Apple Watch face that you want to share under My Faces on the My Watch tab.
  3. The select the sharing icon at the top right corner.
  4. And lastly, the way you wish to share. You can send the face either through AirDrop, Messages, email, and more, just like any other file. It’s encoded in a special format which the iOS 14 and WatchOS 7 can understand.

For the WatchOS 7

To directly share your watch face from your WatchOS 7, then do the following:

  1. With the face you wish to share active, hard press on the Apple Watch display.
  2. Tap on the Share Sheet.
  3. Choose a contact.
  4. Add a message in the Create Message box.
  5. Scroll down, select Send. Just like that.

Okay now that you are able to create and share watch faces with your friends and families, there are still other interesting and cool features on the WatchOS 7 which are worth mentioning.

There are additions such as Chronographs which can be accessed by tapping on the bezel around the main 12-hour dial. You can even record time on scales of three, six, thirty or even sixty seconds. There is also a tachymeter timescale which can be used to measure speed based on time traveled over a fixed distance.

The new WatchOS 7 comes packed with new features including a world clock, shortcuts, new camera remote, moon face and so much more. The sleep monitor feature is one of the interesting thing bundled with tie new WatchOS 7 that makes it interesting for anyone seeking to upgrade.

Long rumored, the function is designed to help you to create a schedule and bedtime routine that matches your sleep goals.

With numerous cases of mental issues nowadays, sleep is one of the most important part of anyone’s life and the need to be able to track how good you slept the previous day is a good thing which is what the good things that comes with the new operating system upgrade.

You are now able to schedule a bedtime routine which can help you maintain a healthy sleeping habit. From the app, you can view a log of the last night’s sleep data and how you did the previous 14 days.

Fitness is also ultra important to stay healthy and fit which is part of why Apple did include the fitness application to be bundled with the WatchOS 7 which would include four new workouts and that includes Dance, Functional Strength Training, Core Training, and a post-workout Cooldown.

Other interesting features that will be bundled along with the Apple Watch OS includes the hand washing technology because COVID-19.

And it will sync well into the Apple product ecosystem which includes the MacOS Big Sur, iOS 14, iPadOS 14, TvOS 14 all which should arrive with the WatchOS 7 by September as a stable release along with the devices they will be accompanying.
