Its official. The Apple Watch Series 5 was unveiled yesterday, the 10th of September, 2019 and its so far been an awesome product from Tim Cook who is always smiling while calling out Apple execs to showcase whatever the company has.
Although many of us did visit the Cupertinos Campus mainly because of the iPhone 11 and nothing else, the Apple Watch Series 5 still got itself some few attentions though. And the fact that it starts from a price tag of $399 (£399, AU$649) for the GPS-only model, and $499 (£499, AU$799) for both GPS and cellular makes it quite expensive . You can order the Apple Watch Series 5 now and it will be available in stores on Sept. 20.
The Apple watch is by far the most selling smartwatch in the market as it encompasses different features that lets you keep tab of your entire life. That is a really great deal for anyone interested in a modern technology. The smartwatch features applications that focuses mainly on users’ fitness, biometrics and health research.
What’s even more interesting is the fact that the Apple Watch 5 will feature the always-on display while delivering that same 18 hours of long usage. That is really a good deal.
I think battery longevity and software CPU optimization is the major selling point for Apple this time around considering the fact that almost all their products released on Tuesday, the 10th of September features a really powerful battery and faster performances.
And speaking of Always-On display, unlike the previous generation of the device, the Apple Watch 4 which turns dime after a set time, the new Apple Watch 5 now stays on, or at least if you want it that way. The mode works whenever you have the watch strapped to your wrist as the sensors detects the presence of your hand and in turn keeps the display on. After all, you don’t want to be turning your smartwatch every seconds while working out.
Apart from Always-On display, there is also an additional feature such as the inclusion of a native compass. Even when used in a really crowded place like the Steve Jobs theater, the watch works fine.
There is also little bit of a design addon going on here. Apple doesn’t seems to invest more in design upgrades this year much like other competitors like Samsung and Huawei. The titanium design model which appears very much great and makes the smartwatch lightweight.
The Apple Watch Series 5 doesn’t feel dramatically different, but having an always-on display is a big and overdue change that we didn’t expect, but are glad to welcome this after all, there are Android smartwatches that offers this same feature as well.
In addition to the debut of the Watch Series 5, Apple announced it has permanently lowered the price of its Apple Watch 3, which launched in 2017, to $199 (£199, AU$319). That also goes to other Apple devices that were launched that same year and last year such as the iPhone 8 and the iPhone XR.
