As the year runs towards the end, many of us have been planning on what to buy for our oved ones be it smartphone or any interesting gadget they will appreciate but then there is the issue of financial issues due to the bad state of the economy courtesy of the coronavirus pandemic which had sent the world economy into a downward spiral.

That is why affordable smartphones with high-level specifications comes in. With this, you get a device that can get a lot of work done for you while also being cheap and affordable at the same time.

In this short list, I’ve compiled a list of affordable devices you can opt for this festive period for your loved ones such as your kids or family members who definitely don’t need the US$1000 smartphone but do not mind the affordable smartphones as well.

Redmi 9C 4G

This is one of the many smartphones out there that offer high-quality specifications on and off the papers and ridden with high-level performance and optimization that makes it an interesting smartphone despite its affordable price point.

We all know what the Redmi brand is all about – making affordable smartphones with mid-range specifications and quality. This device sports a big 8.53-inch Full HD+ display and it also has a fast MediaTek Helio G35 chipset with an octa-core and a 2.3GHz processing capability making it a pretty fast smartphone you can’t afford not to buy. In terms of storage, you get 3GB of RAM and also a 64GB of internal storage. Pretty standard.

Elsewhere, it comes with a triple rear camera setup with a primary 13MP AI sensor as well as a single front facing camera housed in a tear-drop notch up front. And as for the battery capability, it has a whooping 5000mAh Li-Po battery which give you the juice to burn through for the entire day.

US$119

And for the price, Redmi is offering this device with a whooping 50% discount which reduces the price all the way from US$236.92 down to just $119.00. Grab a cup of coffee and go grab you own Redmi 9C by clicking on the link above to get the deal.

Redmi 9A 4G

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9A 4G is another entry-level smartphone though well trimmed down compared to the aforementioned Redmi 9C above. This device come with some interesting features as well despite it’s limited capabilities and specs but it’s still a performer to a large extent which is what makes it worthwhile.

First, you also get a big 6.53-inch Full HD+ display much like the aforementioned smartphone and it also come with the same capacity in terms of power but trimmed down in other aspects.

For example, it also come with a 13MP AI triple rear camera setup and a single front facing camera housed within the dot-drop notch right at the display and most of all is the 5000mAh battery. It’s as if Redmi do compensate with big batteries on their cheaper smartphones which I think is an interesting thing considering the fact that the company tries to offer value at all costs which is a great thing in itself.

Then lastly, you also get the Helio chipset the same that powers the Redmi 9C but this time, the RAM is just 2GB while the internal storage is also dialed down to just 32GB but storage can be expanded using MicroSD card which is an added value.

Xiaomi Redmi 9A 4G

Fast Helio G35 chipset and a massive 5000mAh battery all at a very cheap price point

US$99.99

As for the pricing, you get the device at a low price tag of about US$99.99 which is a bit cheaper than the previous model above. The original price is about US$182.60 which is a 45% discount on the offer.

Cubot KingKong Mini 4G

If you know me well enough, you’ll know I always cheer rugged smartphones because of their level of durability and endurance which is why they’re not for everyone. Some of us want a fancy looking smartphone with sleek chassis and tiny bezels while others who especially do not work in fancy corporate offices would require a device made for them.

So whether you’re an engineer or an adventurer or a there is a chance you cannot put your US$500 smartphone through the kind of stress you’ll subject a regular US$159 rugged smartphone because that is what they’re made for but enough of the explanation.

The Cubot KingKong Mini is a 4G smartphone with a really small frame coming with a petite display of 4.0-inch. That might seem too tiny for 2020 but that’s what it is. It’s also powered by the much stable Android 9.0 OS and then the MediaTek MT6761nQuad Core chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

In other place, there is the 13MP rear camera and a 2000mAh battery to take you through the day. The portability is a good factor especially for those who have two devices and basically need an extra which is what the Cubot KingKong Mini 4G will be.

A little monster with powerful and tough exoskeletal protections giving you the perfect ruggedness

US$99.99

As for the pricing, you get this for just US$97.99 rather than the retail price of about US$185.23. Clicking on the link above gets you the 47% discount the device is being sold for which a great value for the money.

UMIDIGI Bison

The name kind of says it all and of course this is a tough smartphone in the rugged arena. The UMIDIGI Bison is a toughened smartphone with an IP68/IP69K waterproof certification as well as NFC technology all which adds up to the value the device is able to offer you.

First of all, you get a the big 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a moderate refresh rate and then there is also the Helio P60 powering up the device giving you the capacity to do just what you want from playing games to fast computing, internet surfing and so forth.

The other interesting thing about the device is the battery capacity which is a massive 5000mAh Li-Po battery. As you can see, affordable smartphones do have much better battery life than expensive smartphones. That’s the bitter and annoying fact we all have to deal with.

There is also the 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and as for the camera, there is a quad rear setup with the primary sensor being a 48MP sensor while there is another 24MP sensor up front in a teardrop notch at the front of the device. It’s also a 4G smartphone and it offer you exclusive values that you probably won’t get anywhere else.

Oukitel C18 Pro

Oukitel is a popular brand in the mid-range/entry-level smartphone arena with an array of good products spanning from rugged smartphones which I usually promote willingly on here as well as other cool products. But the focus on this post is the Oukitel C18 Pro which is a very great device that you can opt for today.

Comes with a 6.55-inch Full HD+ display with a massive 4000mAh battery and powered by the stable Android 9.0. It also have some modern technology such as the Face unlock and fingerprint scanner but that’s not enough as there are other high quality features such as the 4000mAh battery which is the proper size for such a big device.

Then there is the 16MP quad rear camera setup with a single front facing camera. You also get the Helio P25 chipset as well as 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
