Inorder to celebrate the GMA’s 2016 Sumer Concert Series, the Good Morning America announced its exclusive partnering with another fast growing company the Musical.ly; a video social network. Starting since yesterday 6th June 2016, June 14th viewers will be invited to participate in a series of Musical.ly challenges by simply uploading 15 seconds videos to the platform using the hashtag #GMAChallenge with the most creative video advancing each round. As the competition goes, two users will be selected to travel to New York to compete in the final round and perform their “Musically” live on GMA. The grand prize wnner will be given an opportunity to meet Demi Lovato on June 17th during her GMA Summer Concert Series performances as well as two ticket to a concert on the 2016 Demi Lovato “Future Now” Tour. To start the contest, Fans are prompted to download the Musical.ly mobile application and set up their profile. After the creation of the profile, users can then search for the hashtag “#GMAChallenge” which will then take them to the GMA contest landing area where they can create and post their videos set to song clips by either Jason Durelo, Demi Lovato or Flo Rida all depending on the contest round.
As of now, Musical.ly enjoys a maximum userbase of around 80million and this prompted the celebration with the videos contest whereby users interested should enter by uploading a simple 15 seconds videos or less seconds in fact. he platform which is becoming a real big deal on the internet is a place where outlets express themselves through singing, dancingl comedy and lip-syncing.
